Week #62

Hey there everyone!

I hope it has been the best week for all of you.  I can't believe that it is already Monday again. I have absolutely no idea where time is going. I don’t have too much time today. We have a Zone activity that we are going to today so this email will be really short. I’ll give you a few updates from this week. We were able to participate in a mission fast this weekend. I have a testimony of prayer and fasting. Saturday evening we started our fast and promised the Lord we would do our part and work hard and asked if he would help us to find those who are searching for the gospel. We visited a few people in a neighborhood by our church building. Sister Robertson and I felt prompted to knock on a certain door on the street. We walked over and this man answered. His daughters also came to the door. They told us they already had a church they were attending. We explained to them that we were missionaries and were there to help them to grow closer to Jesus Christ. They started to ask questions and we were able to testify of the restoration. The girls got really excited and asked if there were youth groups at the church! We are meeting with them this week! I know that as we follow the spirit in our lives we will be in the right place at the right time!

Halloween was one to remember! We had a lesson with Elsie and then we went to institute with her. She was so excited to go. We were able to talk with her on the way and she expressed to us that she is still wanting to get baptized, but still praying about a date. The institute lesson was on prayer and fasting. She told us that she was going to fast about a baptismal date this week! Elise came to church this Sunday! We were so excited to see her because her brother and Sister in Law were sick and she still came to church!

Our ward is working hard to hit their goal of 24 baptisms this month. They had a ward fast for missionary work this week. We received a referral from a recent convert family. Their son is the only one who decided not to convert at the time the family did, but is opening up to the idea of learning more. We had a lesson with Thomas and we were able to talk about Prophets and how we have one on the earth today! He was soaking it all in and told us he would pray to see if there really is a modern day prophet! Member missionary work I’m telling you is how we find prepared people!

“Behold, I am Jesus Christ, whom the prophets testified shall come into the world. And behold, I am the light and the life of the world; and I have drunk out of that bitter cup which the Father hath given me, and have glorified the Father in taking upon me the sins of the world, in the which I have suffered the will of the Father in all things from the beginning.”
(3 Nephi 11:10-11).

“When you reach up for the Lord’s power in your life with the same intensity that a drowning person has when grasping and gasping for air, power from Jesus Christ will be yours. When the Savior knows you truly want to reach up to Him—when He can feel that the greatest desire of your heart is to draw His power into your life—you will be led by the Holy Ghost to know exactly what you should do.” - President Nelson

I love the Savior. I have been thinking about him this week and how when we align our will with the Fathers our lives are used for good. The spirit will prompt us of things to do and say at that moment will be a blessed and protected in our lives. There are so many people around us who need our help. There are so may people who need the gospel. We have the power of Jesus Christ in our lives and I am forever grateful for that. Thank you for all of your love and support. The Lord loves you! I love you all and wish you the best week!

Love,
Sister Kenzie Graham
