Hola Everybody!
We started off this week Monday evening with a super
awesome FHE. We played do you love your neighbor. It was such a great way to
get to know everybody. We sat in a circle in the gym and one person was in the
middle would ask a do you love your neighbor and if the person said no they
then replied with but I do love people who are wearing glasses. Then all those
who are wearing glasses get up and have to find a new chair. Rabi was going to
come, but then he ended up having an engineering meeting for school.
Velda is one of our investigators that we are
teaching and she is thee greatest person ever. She was a referral from the New
Tampa Sisters, where Sister Bowen is now serving. We had quite the adventure
trying to get over to her apartment Tuesday afternoon. We were driving the big
12 passenger van and that thing is not the easiest to pull a u-turn in. We
missed her road the first time, and the second time so we pulled just a few
u-turns in the Arc but we eventually got there. Velda had the biggest smile on
her face when we got there. She invited us into her apartment. She has three
other room mates, so we had a lesson in her bedroom. She is so solid. Velda
loved the Plan of salvation. She said it was the message that she had been
waiting for her whole life. She asked us if we could move her baptismal date
up! We took no thought and said OF COURSE! She is getting baptized April
16th!:)
Wednesday we had zone Training meeting. It was
spiritually up lifting and way more prepared than our last Zone Training meeting.
Sister Neibaur and I did a musical number together. She sang and I played the
piano. It was so much fun. I went in an exchange with Sister Lesuma this week,
and we went to Apollo beach. It was flash backs to be back in a family area.
Wednesday night we slept at the Apollo beach apartment and planned all the
exchanges we would have for the transfer with all the Sisters. The next day we
went out and contacted together. Is was a pretty chilly day, and when it gets
chilly the Manatees come in shore. We went to contact at the manatee viewing
center and came across this couple. They were so awesome, their daughter was on
spring break. We got into a gospel conversation and they didn't want anything
to do with our church but they said that this was the first time they had a
conversation about religion that didn't get heated! It made me realize that
what we are here to do is share testimony and testify of what we know to be
true. Those who will act on an invitation are the elect! I wasn't sad that they
wouldn't listen but comforted to know that one day I will get to see them
again. When I do I can't wait to share this incredible message with him.
Sister Neibaur and I headed downtown Tampa Friday
morning for a specialized missionary training for all the new missionaries. I
was with Hermana Anderson when we went downtown to contact. We met this man
named Brad who was actually on his bike. We stopped him and started talking to
him. We gave him a Book of Mormon and he was super excited to read it. When we
were about to part ways he said "can I ask you a question? You two have
beautiful eyes, why are they shining?" We explained it was because if the
gospel of Jesus Christ. He wanted missionaries to come to his house. We asked
if it was okay if Elders came. Brad goes "as long as I get this
gospel!" How cool is that. Each of us are examples in this crazy world and
we don't even know it. People really do notice!
I love this gospel. I can't even believe how
incredible this experience is. There is nothing that describes it. My favorite
scripture from this week is Moroni 7:33-34 is says,
33 And Christ hath said: If ye will have
faith in me ye shall have power to do whatsoever thing is expedient in
me.
34 And he hath said: Repent all ye ends of
the earth, and come unto me, and be baptized in my name, and have faith in me,
that ye may be saved.
Christ is always there for us. He is waiting for us
to build our faith in him and repent so that he can strengthen us through the
enabling power of the atonement. I love the Savior and I know he lives!! I love
you all and want you to know that God is watching out for each and every one of
you!☺️
Love,
Sister Graham
