Hey Family and Friends,
What's going on? Another week has come and gone and I
don't even know how it happened. Saying goodbye to Sister Minson was so hard. I
can't even believe that she is back home In Arizona. My New companion is Sister
Neibaur and she is just simply amazing. She is from Pleasant Grove and
graduated in 2016. She went and did a semester at SUU before her mission and
absolutely loved it. She is the Youngest and has 3 brothers. Wednesday morning
we had a training meeting with the trainers and the new missionaries with
President and Sister Cooper. It was so much fun. As soon as I saw Sister
Neibaur I knew she was going to be my companion.
I had MLC this Friday and it was one of the most
spiritual meetings I have had on my mission. It was incredible. I can not even
tell you how amazing it is to be with other missionaries who are working hard.
It is so motivating! Our meeting was centered on finding! Sister Lesuma and I
got to give a training in the Faith to Find. It was a lot of fun. For the first
time I wasn't terrified. We read the story of Almas mission to the apostate
Zoramites, and related it to how we too can have faith like Alma and help those
who are in need of help.
Patience is a Christlike attribute that I have been
working on. I have never been one to be patient, but I am learning each day how
to trust in the Lords timing. Satan works hard on us during the time that God
has asked us to wait. There must be opposition in all things (2 Nephi 2:11). When
we are asked to be patient we are going to feel like nothing is getting done,
or time is being wasted, but we all know that there is someone far greater and
more perfect than us that can see the bigger picture. We had a really cool
experience this week. Last transfer I felt a little disconnect from the spirit.
I wasn't getting as strong of spiritual promptings that I use to get in Palm
Harbor. Saturday, Sister Neibaur and I set specific goals for the
day and knelt in prayer and asked Heavenly Father to put people in our path who
would be receptive to our message. We were walking by the dorms on campus, and
we were talking to a man who wasn't interested at all but we were talking to
him about his schooling. Another man walked past and I got the strongest spiritual
promoting that we needed to talk to him. I had no idea how this was possible
because we were in the middle of a conversation. We saw the man walk away and
for a moment my heart sank because I didn't listen to a promoting. We finished
our conversation and started to walk away. As we walked away Sister Neibaur
said "we should have talked to that man that walked past us!" No way this was not a coincident. We turned around and
walked in the direction he was headed and all of a sudden we see him walking
towards us. We stopped him and started to talk to him. Little did we know that
he has been searching for a church to go to since he had been at college!
I realized something so important about this experience.
Earlier that morning we had prayed for the Lord to put someone in our path who
would be receptive to our message. I was thinking about one of the trainings
from MLC and someone mentioned that the Lord loves all his missionaries but he
doesn't trust them all. It wasn't that I didn't get spiritual promptings last
transfer it was that I wasn't following them as closely as I could have.
Therefore the Lord didn't trust me so to say! Wither or not Conner acts upon
the message we shared with him. The Lord gave me an opportunity to prove myself. I'm so
grateful for the promptings of the spirit.
Right after we met Conner we headed back to the church to
eat some lunch and this guy came right up to us and asked if we were mormons. Sister Neibaur and I looked at each other in surprise. He
asked if he could come to church with us on Sunday! Guess what he actually
came. His name is Aaron. After church we had a lesson with him.
Rose came and she bore her testimony on Jospeh Smith. It is so cool to see how
far she has come. She is incredible. Aaron is coming to FHE tonight and we have
another lesson with him on Wednesday! We are trying to fill up our schedule
with lessons, like we should anyways, but especially because it is spring break
here at USF so campus is going to be dead this week.
Rabi is really progressing. He is keeping all of his
commitments and accepted the invitation to be baptized in April 9th! He taught
us The Who restoration lesson this week. It was so amazing. We also had Johns
baptism this Sunday. The other YSA Sisters, Sisters Suman and House are such an
amazing example of faith. I love being able to work with them!!! I love you
all. Always remember that prayer is the passport to peace! Have the best week
ever!!
Love,
Sister Kenzie Graham
