Week #63

Hey Hey Family and Friends,

This transfer has flown by! I’m telling ya I don’t know where time is going. We got transfer calls a little bit ago and Sister Robertson is getting transferred to Seminole and my new companion is at the Provo MTC and will be here tomorrow! I’m excited for this new adventure with her. I have learned so much from Sister Robertson. She has taught me so much about the work, myself, and our investigators. I love her so much!

This week started off with the biggest miracle! Monday as we were coming home from Zone Activity day every lesson we had for the night cancelled! You know at the beginning of my mission I would have thought it was a consequence from not doing something right, but the longer I serve I realize it is because the Lord always has a plan! We prayed and asked Heavenly Father where we needed to be. There were a few former investigators that kept standing out to the both of us. We knocked on the door and a women answered. We asked if the former investigator we were looking for was home and she told us there family had recently moved in! Guess what happened next.... ERICA INVITED US INTO HER HOME! We were able to share the whole message of the restoration with her. She would show us scriptures in the Bible and we would bear testimony on what we believed. At the end of our visit she told us that all of our doctrine lined up with what she believes. Erica has been looking for a church for a while and asked if she would be able to come and tour it this week! As we follow the spiritual promptings God sends us, we will always be in the right place at the right time. Miracles have not ceased!

Sister Suman and I were able to go on an exchange this week! Oh how I love her. It was like the good old days. We had a lesson with Elsie and Sister Suman brought the spirit so strong. I love teaching with her because of the gospel knowledge that she has! Elsie has been reading and praying and she told us that she wants to get baptized but doesn’t want to be rushed. She is more ready than she thinks. She reads the pamphlets and highlights questions that she has. I love learning from Elsie. She teaches me so much. Sister Suman and I saw the biggest miracle together. We had a lesson later that night with a family in our ward. We got to the area a little bit early and had some time to walk around their neighborhood. We saw this man outside putting up his Christmas lights. I can’t believe it’s already that time of year. We talked with him for a moment and he told us that he hasn’t been to church in a long time because he hasn’t found one that he feels is true. We shared the restoration and gave him a pamphlet and he said “I have been thirsting for knowledge”! How cool is that! When we go about doing good and just simply be Missionaries, the Lord always provides.

We spent some time helping a few Sisters clean their apartment this weekend. I can sadly say that I wish people knew how to keep things clean. When we got to the apartment this stench filled our noses! Layers of grease on the stove, an inch of dust on the baseboards, and some unidentified substances in the bathroom! There was much more but to say the least it was a little bit dirty. We had such a fun time cleaning together! We decorated for Christmas and made it a home! Smells like pine trees now.

Sunday we were able to attend Nelson’s baptism. The Elders have been working with him for about a month. He read the entire Book of Mormon before he was baptized. Brother Parsons, a member of the Bishopric, came up to us after Sacrament Meeting and asked if we would work with a family in the ward. Their son has turned 9 and hasn’t been baptized yet and so we get the opportunity to teach him. We went over to their home last night and had such a fun lesson with him. We helped him to pick a Baptismal day and he picked December 2nd. He is thee cutest little things. Keep Sawyer Rosin in your prayers!

I love this gospel and have learned so much about my Savior Jesus Christ as I have served a mission for him. I love being able to teach and testify of him everyday. There is no greater work than this. God is real and I have seen it in my life and I know that each of us can as we hold fast to the rod and press forward with faith! (1 Nephi 8:30, 2 Nephi 31:20) I love you all. If you have gotten this far into the letter I hope you have an amazing week! Press forward with FAITH!

Love,
Sister Kenzie Graham
