Week #60
Family and Friends,
This week has been a blur!! We have so many YSA aged members in our
stake so we started and FHE group. The Shumans, who are related to
Sister Suman, held it at their house. Our investigator Nijael was able
to come. We sang hymns and play signs! Nijael has a gift for singing.
Between her and Sister Robertson I felt like I was listening to angels
sing.
I have such a firm testimony that God is mindful of each and every one
of his children. Saturday evening all of our plans fell through! We
had stopped by a few less active members and none of them were home.
We said a prayer and asked Heavenly Father where we needed to be. It
was around 8:15, which is pretty late to knock on doors here because
it gets so dark. We get to this trailer park and everyone's houses were dark,
except for the address that we wanted to visit. We knocked on the door and
the person we were looking for had actually moved. Cara and her family recently
moved to Florida this month. She hasn't been to church since she was a little
girl. She told us the reason she stopped going was because her grandma
made her wear dresses.... haha don't worry we wear them too Cara! She
invited us to come back and share more of our message tonight!
The Shrum family is really progressing! Haley and her parents have
been reading the Book of Mormon and it has been amazing to see the
changes that have been made. I love listening to people pray with real
intent. Ahhh it's the coolest thing ever. Keep their family in your
prayers.
Our Relief Society President said thee funniest thing this week, that
actually made me think about my priorities in life. So our area is
about 20 minutes away from Disney and everyone in the ward either
works for them or has season passes. We have a lot of less active
sisters in the ward who we are trying to help become active again. She
told us "Sisters we need to stop worshiping the magic kingdom, and
start acting like we're going to make it to the Celestial kingdom!" We
all we're dying laughing, but the more I thought about it the more
profound her comment was. How many of us look at the things of the
world and make them our priorities? Sometimes we let the little things
slip and before we know it we are far from where we want to be. I love
the gospel and how it helps us to be happy! I know that Jesus Christ
is our Savior and that he has the power that we need to be successful
in this life. I love being a missionary and serving! I hope you all have thee best week!
Love,
Sister Kenzie Graham
