Week #56
Hey Family and Friends!
This week has been a crazy abnormal week! Then again there really
isn't a normal week on the mission! We had Zone Conference,
Specialized Missionary Training, and Service with our ward. Between
that and balancing normal missionary work, our week has flown by!
Tuesday we woke up at 5:00 a.m. and headed to good old Tampa for Zone
Conference! We had about an hour and 45 minute drive and were able to
listen to the whole Lamb of God soundtrack.... twice! Haha gotta love
being on the border. Our whole Zone conference was centered on helping
investigators keep commitments. One of my favorite things about
missionary work, is being able to watch people make changes in their
lives and grow closer to their Heavenly Father. Change allows us to
grow. When we don't invite our investigators or give them the tools
they need to improve their lives, we are not allowing them to
experience true repentance! A friend helps us to become better, when
the Savior is our best friend, we are becoming our best!
We also had specialized missionary training this week! All the new
missionaries and their trainers meet at a church building in downtown
Tampa. We receive trainings and practice contacting downtown. It is a
lot of fun! We met this man as we were walking to lunch. He was taking
a break from work and we started walking with him. His one question
was, if there is one God, then why are there so many religions? I
think we take it for granted every single day that we know the answer
to that question. We have the knowledge we need to have peace and joy,
but there are so many people all around us who have this yearning
desire to know! We shared with him the message of the restoration. To
see the light and happiness that came into his eyes gave me comfort
knowing how true the message is that we each have to share with the
world!
Mosiah 2:17
17. And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that
ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye
are only in the service of your God.
Service is thee best! We were able to go with our ward, to help with
hurricane clean up this weekend. We got to a house that had a huge 80
foot tree that had blown over. All the Brothers in the ward were having
a hay day with their chain saws! It was so fun to work together and
clear a huge tree out of a families yard! It has been amazing to see
all the hearts that have been softened since the hurricane. We are so
blessed to have the gospel in our lives. It has become real to me why
the Lord sends destruction our way! It really is to humble us and help
us to recognized just how much we need him in our lives. I know that
God lives and this is his gospel! As we live it, we receive all that
we need to succeed in this life! I love my Savior and I know he knows
each of us perfectly. I hope you all enjoyed the general women's
conference! I wish you all the best week!
Love,
Sister Kenzie Graham
