Week #54 HURRICANE IRMA
Hey Family!
What a week it has been! President Cooper has asked us to send a
quick email and update to just our immediate family and from there you
can share with who ever has been asking. Things in Citrus Ridge are
going well. We were waiting to hear for evacuation plans because of
how big the storm was getting. We got a call Wednesday morning
informing us we were going to travel to Tampa. We had to clean our
whole apartment and put everything on high shelves in case of flooding.
We got gas and then Thursday afternoon we met up with our districts
and caravanned down to Tampa. We arrived safe!
Let me tell you I can check it off my bucket list that I have slept at
a church building and have eaten out of my 72 hour kit! We have been
so so blessed! The spirit that has been felt here while being gathered
together has been something I will never forget. I am so grateful for
President and Sister Cooper and that they were with us. It brought me
so much peace and comfort. I know because of their faith combined
with the faith of the missionaries that we were protected. We have had
devotionals, testimony meetings and we were able to partake of the
sacrament as missionaries. President has really strengthened my
faith in the power of the Priesthood. After church yesterday we knelt
with the missionaries and president and sister Cooper and he offered
the prayer. It was one of the most spiritual experiences I have had in
my life. He gave a blessing on the missionaries. The storm hit us
around 1:00 a.m. But we didn't hear anything. They church had power
all night. The crazy thing was all the buildings around us didn't have
power. There is so much to be grateful for!
We are getting to serve in the community today which will be so fun!
Sorry this is so short. We haven't heard the damage in Citrus Ridge so
we will have to wait for clearance to go back. I love you all and hope
that you know I love you and I am safe! I survived my first hurricane!
Thank you for your prayers and emails! I will send you more next week!
Love you,
Sister Kenzie a graham
