Week #51

Hey Family and Friends!

Change is happening this week! We got transfer calls this morning and...... I am being transferred to Citrus Ridge! I will be training a new missionary there, which is super exciting! I'm nervous to say the least but I know that the Lord is so mindful of each of us. He has a plan! I haven't been in a family ward for 7 1/2 months so I will be on my knees a lot this transfer trying to figure things out again. I'm not excited to say goodbye to YSA, Rose, Velda and Rabi. I have just loved every minute of serving in YSA. I have been refined in so many ways and have come to know my Savior on such a personal level. He has taught me that He is there through every good and bad time of my life!! Sister Barkdull is going to be my new Sister Training Leader companion in the Lakeland Zone! We were in the MTC together and I can't tell you how excited I am to be working with her!

Our week started out quite eventful! Tuesday morning we were riding our bikes for exercise. We were riding along Bruce B Downs and there was the most beautiful sunrise. The sky was all pink and purple. Then we noticed these silhouette in the sky and thought they were just birds. Then we noticed that the wings were fluttering a different way. Oh no BATS! We started to peddle faster when all of a sudden this black bat hits my helmet. It's wing brushed against my forehead!! Haha the two of us started biking as fast as we possibly could. Got to love Gods creations!

Paul is doing so well! We had a lesson on the plan of salvation with him. He told us that it felt familiar and that he has thought about all of this before. Paul is so genuine when he asks questions! He put together that Jesus Christ has a body of flesh and bone and because he is resurrected his body and his spirit will never come apart. He thought it was the coolest thing! He also had questions about how we can make it to the celestial kingdom. We helped him to understand that it is through reading our scriptures, prayer coming to church and partaking of the sacrament.

Wednesday, Sister Barlow and I we're driving to So Fresh for our birthday lunch. As we were driving down Fletcher, I felt this thing tickle my foot. I shook it off and thought it was the air or something. But then all of a sudden I felt it again and looked down and there was this huge black thing that hurried and ran away. We finally parked and got out of the car and there it was, the biggest cockroach I have ever seen in Florida. What!! A cockroach! How did it get in the car? It kept running back-and-forth. I yelled to Sister Barlow "grab a pamphlet." We finally got the cockroach out of the car and all is well!

I was able to go on an exchange this week with Sister Porter! We are walking on campus and met a girl named Shae riding her bike. We talked with her for a second and she mentioned that she had never been to church before! We invited her to come on Sunday and she came! She already seems like a member! I am so excited for her to continue taking the missionary discussions!

This weeks letter is going to be shorter! I want everyone to know that I know this gospel is true. I know that it was restored by the prophet Joseph Smith and that because he asked God we have the fullness of the gospel today. As we each ask God for things in our lives with real intent, and we act on the promptings he gives us, we too will receive the spiritual light and truth that came to that young farm boy! I love being a missionary! My mission President told me at the beginning of my mission that there is no growth in the comfort zone! Haha I love it! I love my Heavenly Father! Have the best week ever:)

Love,
Sister Kenzie Graham
