Week #48
Hello Everyone,
We are on a spiritual high this week. Between Zone Conference and
Church you could say it has been a great week. This week started off
with an amazing institute class Monday evening. Irem has been able to
attend and it has been so neat to watch her English get better as she
reads from the Book of Mormon. Elder Hatch is the CES missionary
serving in the YSA at the moment and he is awesome to say the least.
He has taught all of us how to really read the scriptures. The
scriptures are living and bless our lives in so many different ways. I
can promise you all they aren't meant to just sit in the shelf and get
dusty, they are here for us to get answers to our prayers and to gain
a relationship with our Heavenly Father. If things might now be going
how we wish they would, let us dust off the answers and begin to
search!
Zone Conference was held at the mission office on Thursday. We went
early that morning to practice a musical number and for car
inspections. We only had about 30 minutes to practice the number with
the elders from our district. When we went to sing it in Zone
Conference the Elders started wayyyyy off key so we started again.
Hopefully the spirit made up the difference. Our whole Zone conference
was on the Book of Mormon and how it is the most powerful tool in
conversion. Let me tell you it totally is. President and Sister Cooper
did a role play on how to teach our investigators about the Book of
Mormon. His testimony is so inspiring. He taught with power and when
he testified of that book it hit my own testimony and reaffirmed the
truth and reality of it! The Assistants gave one of the best trainings
I have ever received on my mission. It was on having the faith to
find. They opened with a statement. Faith while finding is LOVE! When
we love those around us we will do anything for them. Love for the
Savior is what should keep all of us going. Love for the Savior keeps
us joyful. Love for the Savior gives us LIFE!
The missionaries in the YSA Ward were in charge of the 5th Sunday
lesson this week. The whole ward gathered in the chapel and the Elders
started the lesson with asking all the recent converts to stand and
tell the ward how they found the missionaries. There were about 15 who
stood and bore simple powerful testimony. The spirit flooded the room and
we had a great lesson. We played a video and each member commented on
how we can share the gospel. We talked about social media. We then had
5 minutes of silence and each member picked their favorite scripture
and they shared it on social media right then and there!
Sister Barlow and I have talked a lot about faith since Zone
Conference. We were crossing the cross walk the other day outside of
the church and met a girl named Romina! She is so prepared and she
knows one of the members in our ward. We had a lesson with her last
night and she is sincerely wanting to learn more about the church. She
broke down and explained to us how hard life really is. We testified
of the Book of Mormon and told her that with faith she can over come
hard things!
I hope you all have a wonderful week. Sorry I don't have too much time
today. The gospel is so true and I love being a missionary! Thank you
for all of your prayers!
Love,
Sister Kenzie Graham
