Week #45

Everyone!! How is it going?

We got transfer calls this morning and I am staying in YSA for another
round! I also get to train a new missionary which I am super excited
about. Sister Neibaur will be transferring to Sarasota, where the sun
is shining and you can actually see the beach. Were bummed that we are
getting separated, but super excited to see what the Lord has in store
for us!

Tomorrow we get the opportunity to meet the new missionaries and go
contacting with them down town. President is doing something a little
bit different this transfer. We are pumped we get to meet them and
contact with them on their first day!

We had a busy week this week! Is was one of those weeks where it flew
by and seemed forever long at the same time. We started off the week
with an exchange. Sister Neibaur got to go to her first family area in
Lithia for a day, and Sister Christensen came to YSA! Sister
Christensen and I were able to have a lesson with Irem, the girl who
is from Turkey. She was excited to show us how she prays in her
country. We were able to read the Book of Mormon with her and it was
such a spiritual experience. She had told us that she read the first 3
chapters, but had no idea what was going on. You know they're not
comprehending when they think Nephi is the bad guy. We all laughed
about it and helped her understand what was really going on! She told
us that reading the Book of Mormon has helped her with her English. It
has been fun to see her understand who God is. She goes back to her
country at the end of August, but has been coming to church and all
the activities!!

We got a text from Elder Duffin informing us we needed to get the oil
changed and tires rotated on the Arc aka 12 passenger van. Dad you
would be so proud, we actually did something related to cars by
ourselves! We took it into good old sears auto and when we got
there the man called us to the front. With a stone cold face he told
us that they didn't serve church goers. At first I didn't recognize
what he had said. I looked over at Sister Neibaur and she had the dear
in the headlights look. He then told us he would give elder Duffin a
call. Little did we know all the new cars go through here to get the
hitches put on them. While we were in the waiting room we talked to a
woman name Rosie. She is from Florida who would have guessed! She
asked us what we were doing and we explained that we were
missionaries. She use to be a Christian but converted to Islam 40
years ago. It was amazing to have a normal conversation about our
beliefs with her. She asked for the address to the church and said she
wanted to learn more. She commented on the spirit that we carried and
the light she saw in our eyes. I though how cool is it that us as
members of the church hold that special light. You don't know who
around you is looking at that light and wanting you to share it with
them! We walked outside with her and she died laughing at the van that
we drive. We told her we ride in style!!

Elias is progressing and still wanting to get baptized. He has had a
few bumps in the road. He has had a lot of questions recently and
hasn't found the answers to his prayers. Please keep him in your
prayers that he will feel peace and find truth through the Book of
Mormon!

I had thee coolest experience this week in personal study. I was able
to finish the Book of Mormon. This is only the second time I've read
through the Book of Mormon from cover to cover and I know with out a
shadow of a doubt that that book is true. Not only is it true but
through it you find peace, happiness, and joy. It is so simple! I know
my Savior because of that book. It testifies of the reality of his
life! I love my Savior and I love being his missionary. Being able to
wear his name on my chest means more and more every single day. Don't
let Satan get the best of you ever. He isn't worth our time!! Joy
comes through him! Never let anyone tell you different!

With love,
Sister Kenzie Graham
