Week #43
HELLO FRIENDS!!
This week we had interviews with President Cooper! Every time I walk
out of his office I am a new person. He gives thee best advice ever.
He asked me what is one thing I have learned on my mission so far. It
took me forever to think of something because there are too many. The
first thing that came to mind is my personal relationship with the
Savior and how that has grown is by living his gospel. This is a
living gospel. It's real and it has been so neat to see those around
me live it and have it change their lives! I love being able to talk
with him! Then I got to talk to Sister Cooper and she is one of my
favorite people ever! We talked about trials and miracles the whole 9
yards! Also about family history work! Family history work is pretty
much the coolest thing ever. It's like free baptisms. I mean yes of
course they have to accept it!
Hermana Whitlock and I were able to go on exchange this week and boy
we had a blast! We were laughing the whole time and having fun doing
missionary work. We had a lesson with one of their investigators named
Toyene. She is a hoot. She has thee best spunky attitude and knows her
bible well. Our whole lesson was on apostles and prophets. The whole
time I kept thinking, our church is so perfect. There is no way how it
is set up that it isn't set up by a God. Everything works because it's
his church. She was loving that we have a modern day prophet. Ahh I
love this work. The gospel changes lives!!
We had a lesson with Elias and his cousin Friday evening. Kayla and
Jordan, who are members in the YSA Ward were able to come. We had just
got off an exchange and Sister Neibaur hadn't had time to plan the
lesson because it was suppose to be for earlier that day. We were a
little Intimidated by how many people were there and the beginning of
the lesson was a little shaky. We reviewed the restoration and Kayla
bore the sweetest testimony on Prophets. Then we asked Jordan how he
knew the Book of Mormon was true. He shared a personal experience when
he was in college. He finished the Book of Mormon and prayed to know if
it was true. The spirit was so strong. Elias said he has been
searching for a church that brings forth good fruit and that he finds
it here in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It set the
tone and we read from 3 Nephi 27 and helped him to understand the
gospel is what brings forth good fruits and when we live it we have ever
lasting joy! Then Sister Neibaur extended the baptismal invitation and
he accepted! ELIAS IS GETTING BAPTIZED JULY 16th! Please pray I don't
get transferred!! He is so prepared and I'm so thankful Heavenly
Father let us be part of this sacred experience.
We were asked to help with the Tampa Stake youth conference. Hey mom
you would love this, they had an amazing race theme. It was held on
USF campus and we were in charge of a puzzle game. They had 3 scripture
mastery well actually I think it's called doctrinal mastery... oh well! They were
mixed up and they had to solve the scriptures to get their next clue. It was a lot
of fun. The youth were pretty tired out by the end because of the heat!
Our Bishop is fired up about missionary work and it is thee coolest
thing. Ward Council on Sunday was all centered on missionary work. The
spirit in the ward has completely changed. There are no more clicks
everyone talks to each other and sits with one another. We had a
spiritually uplifting sacrament meeting. President and Sister Cooper
spoke and brought the spirit so strong. Sisters Neibaur, Ward, and I
got the opportunity to do a musical number in sacrament meeting and it
was a lot of fun. Sister Ward played the violin and sister Neibaur
sang and I was on the good old piano! During the third hour block, the
last 15 minutes, we had our ward mission Council. We all gathered in
the chapel and all the missionaries got up and bore a quick testimony
on missionary work. Brody, the Elders Quorum president then got up and
had a box of pass along cards and challenged everyone in the ward to
grab a stack and pass them out this week. The meeting was finished
with Bishop inviting the ward to fulfill the ward mission plan by
inviting one person to FHE or institute this week. When the meeting
concluded every member got pass along cards and pamphlets. They asked
for our numbers and when they could come out with the missionaries.
How grateful I am to be serving here in the YSA! There are not enough
words to describe the joy in my heart right now!
I am running out of time! We have a zone Activity day today so Im
sorry if I don't email all of you back. Thank you for your thoughts
and prayers. I love you all!
Love,
Sister Kenzie Graham
