How is everyone doing!!!
Hope everyone had a great Father's Day! This week flew by. It felt like I went to bed on Monday and woke up on Sunday!! Lots of things happened this week.
Never in a million years did I ever think I would eat green chicken! Rabi wanted to go and get dinner at one of his favorite authentic Indian restaurants. Sister Neibaur and I are thinking it would be fast food but we walk in and it's this nice sit down restaurant. There is not one person in the whole restaurant and it was dead silent!! None of us could say the names on the menu and the waitress just laughed at us as we tried to pronounce it! We all got something different and shared so we could try a little bit of everything. Apparently nothing is spicy to Rabi because our mouths were on fire! I would definitely recommend Indian food though. It was delicious!
WE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO ATTEND THE TEMPLE for Zone Conference. We woke up early Wednesday morning and headed to good old Orlando. The assistants gave us their little car and a senior couple drove the big 12 passenger van. When we got to the temple even just seeing it in our sight I was able to feel if the spirit that is there. The session was incredible. Sitting in the celestial room with the Lords full time army is something I will never forget. When we came into the celestial room President and Sister Cooper were there and as I hugged her she said this is what Heaven will feel like. One big reunion. I love the feeling of peace and happiness that the temple brings into our lives. Personal revelation is given. Being in the House of the Lord as his servant will be something I will cherish forever!!
Sister Durrant and I went on an exchange Thursday and Friday. She came to YSA and we had a lot of fun together. Friday afternoon we went over to Kayla's apartment, who is a member in the YSA Ward, to do a Book of Mormon read. She then came to Elias's lesson with us. We walked from her apartment to the MSC, which is probably about half a mile walk. Well it started to sprinkle outside and when that happens you know you have about 2 minutes before the sheets of rain start pouring down. Kid you not as soon as we walked into the MSC building it started pouring rain outside. I hear cute Sister Durrant go he even answers the little prayers. In my head I'm thinking man saying a prayer about the rain was the last thing I was thinking about. How cool is it that he even answers the little things. Elias is SO ELECT! We had a killer lesson with him on the restoration. Sister Durrant was able to recite the first vision and he loved it. He said how miraculous that experience must have been. He described how happy he was feeling. Elias came from a very strong catholic family and Kayla, who is a convert to the church, did as well. She bore a powerful testimony! He has so many questions about the Plan of salvation. He wasn't able to come to church on Sunday but we will be meeting with him tonight! Please keep him in your prayers.
The Brandon stake center and their youth conference this week and asked us missionaries to come and help Saturday morning. The youth rotated stations and did an activity at each one. They combined their youth conference with their trek. At each station they would get another blueprint on how to build their handcarts. We did a scripture scavenger hunt with them and it was a lot of fun. The youths testimonies are so strong. They really helped me to understand that the scriptures can answer any question that we have!
Spiritual thought of the day "It seems to be human nature: as we become more familiar with something, even something miraculous and awe-inspiring, we lose our sense of awe and treat it as commonplace."
Don't take the little things for granted. Daily prayer and scripture study might seem like something small but at the end of the day it is the most vital thing we need. It strengthens our relationship with our Father in Heaven and gives us knowledge for the eternities! I love you all and hope you! Thanks for everything!
Love,
Sister Kenzie Graham
