Week #33

Hey Everybody!

Wishing you all the best Easter! How crazy is it that we are already in April. Time is just flashing before our eyes! I don't even know where to start this week was so crazy. Our apartment is a mile away from the mission office so we get to house the departing and new missionaries. Monday through Wednesday we were in a trio with Sister Hansen. Her companion has finished her mission and is now back in good old Samoa! We had a blast with all the departing missionaries Tuesday evening. It is so nice to be able to chat about the things that they have learned on their missions.

Friday Sister Suman and I went to MLC and it was just incredible. It was all centered baptism and confirmation! Sister Suman and I were put in charge of a musical number. Haha we pulled it together so last minute because we had no idea who was musically inclined! It is really neat to sit together and hear other missionaries success stories. The biggest take away from MLC was, when we have the opportunity to see those converted unto the Lord we too will become converted all through the spirit. I was reading and studying Alma 23:6 and if we are converted unto the Lord we will not be lead astray! How amazing is that simple promise! Oh I LOVE IT :)

Highlight of the week was Velda's Baptism on Easter Sunday. She is one of thee most prepared people I think I have ever met. She got to the church Sunday morning with the biggest smile on her face. She got her nails done, bought a new outfit This week has just been incredible. Velda has been such a special person to get to know. I never thought In a million years I would call in love with teaching people the gospel, but it is thee most rewarding thing. It has brought me so much happiness. Velda is thee sassiest girl I have ever met. She gets us laughing so hard. Her baptism was one of the most spiritual things ever. Shawn was a returning less active that baptized and confirmed her. So not only was she baptized but we helped a returning less active as well. She was so scared to go under the water. She has a phobia of drowning. Which meant that getting her into the water was a miracle in and of its self. She came out of the water with the biggest smile on her face! It's a moment like that I am seriously going to cherish forever. When she was changing we brought the mission flat screen into the gym so we could watch the Easter initiative videos from the last couple of years. Well it takes a moment or too to warm up, So I had about 50 eyes staring at me for a good 5 minutes. All is well and we got the videos working. The Easter videos have a way of bringing the spirit.

Last week we received a head quarter referral for a girl named Bailey. We called her and set up an appointment to meet up with her at the church. Guess what? She drove 45 minutes to meet us for a lesson. We taught her the Restoration and set a baptismal date with her!! She is getting baptized on Mother's Day. We committed her to coming to church with us but she said she couldn't get work off. We promised her that If she got it off and came to church that the Lord would bless her in her school work with finals coming up. We get a text Sunday morning asking us what time the baptism was and if she could come to church. How amazing is that? The Lord truly does provide. All we have to do is act! Bailey came to all three hours of church and told us she is excited to get baptized!

I came across one of President Eyrings testimonies in the Savior and fell in love with it. I can't even begin to express the love I have for my Savior. He is real and he is risen!
"I know that our Heavenly Father, the great Elohim, loves and knows us, every one. Under His direction, His Son, Jehovah, was the Creator. I testify that Jesus of Nazareth was born the Son of God. He healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, and raised the dead. He paid the price of all the sins of each of Heavenly Father’s children born into mortality. He broke the bands of death for all as He rose from the tomb that first Easter Sunday. He lives today, a God, resurrected and glorious. - President Eyring"  I hope you all have a wonderful week! Always remember the Lord will ALWAYS provide. We just have to ask him!

Love you all,
Sister Kenzie Graham
