Hey Family and Friends,
Missions are truly incredible! I
am reminded everyday how lucky I am to have this gospel in my life. I have been
able to see the Lords hand this week! This transfer has flown by. Sister
Minson is getting ready to fly back home next week.
We had zone conference this past
week, and let me tell you, President and Sister Cooper are the most amazing
people! Our conference was centered on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. President
gave an inspiring training on teaching repentance! Repentance is a joyful
processes. When we repent we are changing our nature and becoming more like the
Savior. One of my favorite scripture stories is Alma the younger's conversion
story. He was seeking to destroy the church. The Lord strikes him and he
repents. The most inspiring thing is he becomes one of the greatest missionaries
in the Book of Mormon. I had to ask myself, how often does the Lord have to
strike me?
After zone conference Sister
Suman and I went on an exchange. It was such a blast. She was my companion in
the MTC! We contacted on campus for a little bit and then had a lesson with an
investigator named John! The other YSA sisters found him on campus and the
first thing that he told them was, if you want to talk it's not going to be
about religion! Little did he know the Lord had a plan for him. HE IS GETTING
BAPTIZED MARCH 12th. He came to institute that night and had a blast with all
the ward members. I can't remember if I have mentioned Rabi before but he came
to institute too!!
Friday morning we were still on
an exchange. We met so many amazing people on campus. It is such a gold mine
over there. Then we had a service project over at feeding Tampa Bay. It is
non-profit food organization. We helped sort food into boxes and tie balloons
for their family night dining. The man in charge, his name is Antwon, he invited
all the missionaries to a BBQ Bible Study Monday evening. He gave every set of
missionaries a paper invitation and on it, it said, with select readings from
the Book of Mormon. How cool is that? He is YSA age but lives in Brandon
boundaries. The Brandon Elders are teaching him at the moment, but we might end
up teaching him if he comes to the YSA ward. That night we had a lesson with
Rabi. He is an international student from India. He is studying in mechanical
engineering. He had met missionaries on campus before, and toured the church,
but never attended a sacrament meeting. Brenda a recent convert in our ward and
came to his lesson. We had an amazing lesson on God and Brenda shared her
conversion story. Brenda taught the principle of baptism and why it is so
important. After our lesson was over Rabi asked if he could sit in the chapel
and pray!! We got a text from Rabi later that night that said, "Hello
Sisters. Thank you so much for today's lesson. It's a great learning process to
know about the Devine. While praying today to the divine I had a thought about
baptism and purification of the eternal and I got a positive feeling within me
towards the process." It's amazing to see how prayers really are answered
if we ask them with a sincere heart!
Rabi came to church on Sunday
and loved it! We had ward council and the talks were excellent! And some how it
is already Monday! I don't know how that always happens. One thing that I know
to be true is that Heavenly Father knows us each perfectly and has a perfect
plan for us. I take comfort in knowing how much he loves each of his children.
He is mindful. He is perfect!:) I love you all and hope you have a wonderful
wonderful week! God is good!!
Love,
Sister
