Hey Family and Friends,
I hope all of you have had an amazing week. I feel like
the weeks just keep going by faster and faster. I don't even know how it is
already Monday. This week has been full of new experiences, new beginnings and
new people.
Zone Training meeting was on Tuesday! It was a blast. It
was my first time giving a training. Which was super nerve racking. Sister
Lesuma and I gave a training on keeping the Savior centered in our missionary
work. It made me realize the importance of keeping the Savior centered in our
lives. In everything we do. It's amazing how everything works out when we turn
to the Savior and use the atonement. After zone Training meeting I went on
exchanges with Sister Hansen. She is thee cutest. She came to campus and spent
the night in Tampa. We contacted on campus and she was a champ. She had never
even done it before and was already a pro. It was so cool. I learned soooo much
from her!:)
Saturday we had thee coolest experience. The weekends are
usually pretty dead on campus, but for some reasons there were so many people. We were going to head back to the church for dinner. We
were about to cross through the MSC building when we saw a girl sitting at a
table. She had her headphones in and looked pretty down. We went
and sat down by her and simply started talking. Her name is Nancy. She told us
her grandpa passed away and she was super close to him. We talked to her about
the Plan of salvation and gave her a Book of Mormon. She was so excited to read
it and is coming to FHE tonight!
Sunday was incredible. Bishop Harris announced in ward council
a 90 day Book of Mormon challenged. All of us missionaries were super excited
because when people read the Book of Mormon they get all this motivation to
share the gospel with those around them. Sister Minson and I were standing
outside the chapel doors handing out the Book of Mormon calendars. We were
talking to those who were coming in. This one girl walked in who neither of us
recognized. Her name is Samantha and she told us she was visiting from Jackson.
We didn't think anything of it. She was about to walk inside when Elder Hatch
on of the senior couples stuck out his hand and started asking her some more
questions. Little did we know. She is a grad student at USF! One of her
professors challenged her to do something that she had never done before. So
she decided to check out the Mormon church. She got on LDS.org searched the
nearest church building and what time it was at.
Elder Hatch quickly took our Book of Mormon calendars and
pushed us inside the chapel. We sat by her during sacrament meeting. All of the
YSA members were so nice to her. She loved church and said she would come
again. We invited her to FHE and institute! How cool is that? The Lord blessed
us with a miracle and if it weren't for Elder Hatch reaching out his hand, we
could have missed the opportunity to teach her. It made me think of how many
people each of us let walk by who are searching for the gospel. All we have to
do is reach out our hand and say hi!
Something that I will forever be grateful for is how much
my mission has pushed me. I was reading and studying the Book of Mormon a lot
this week. It was able to ponder how Heavenly Father really does hear and
answer our prayers, but it is after the trail of our faith that we get our
answers! (Ether 12:27) When times get hard or you feel that questions are
unanswered always turn to the scriptures! Love you all and I wish you the best
week!!
Love,
Sister Kenzie Graham
