Week #21
Hey Family and Friends how are all of you doing?!:)
Sister Bowen and I got transfer calls this morning and received some pretty big
news. We were in personal Study and our phone started ringing. We thought it
was going to be Elder Durrant our district leader but it was President Cooper.
We both started freaking out. He informed us that we were going to be split up.
I am being transferred to the Brandon Zone, serving in the YSA ward and also
get the chance to serve as a Sister Training Leader! I get to be on USF campus
and talk to college students all day long. I'm so excited and so nervous all at
the same time:) Sister Bowen is going to be staying in Palm
Harbor. It's going to be a hard adjustment being away from Sister Bowen she is
one of my Best Friends but I know the Lord has his hand in each of our lives.
This week was insanely busy. I don't even know where to
start. Tuesday we had the opportunity to do a zone service project at the
Salvation Army sorting food. We traveled over after district meeting. I have a
firm testimony in following promptings from the spirit. Monday evening we were
about to get out and start tracting. Our bike rack was in the trunk and
smashing a few of our Book of Mormons. We decided to put it back on the car and
get out and start tracting. Come Tuesday we were driving to the Salvation Army
and we stop at a red light and all of a sudden her this boom. The Lady behind
us was texting and didn't realize the light was red. We got out to check and
there wasn't any damage done to our car because of our bike rack. She had a
little scratch in her license plate. We settled everything and were on our way.
We got to the Salvation Army and started talking to the Lady who was over the
food department. We were the first missionaries there so she handed us a clip
board to sign in. We started to talk to her and she told us her story. She is a
less Active who took on smoking and fell away from the church. Long story short
we got her contact information and gave it to the Clearwater sisters because
she lives in their boundaries. If it weren't for that still small voice telling
us to put the bike rack on. There would have been damage to the car and we
wouldn't have been able to talk to her and we wouldn't have been able to get
her contact info!!
Brother Sumlin is an awesome missionary. He invited his
neighbor Melissa to family history Wednesday evening. He wants us to come and
meet her. She is amazing. We went over to the church and set up an appointment
with her. Friday night we had a lesson with Melissa. The spirit was so strong.
I hadn't felt the spirit that strong for a really long time. She accepted the
invitation and is getting BAPTIZED on February 25th!! So exciting. The even
better part is that when the members do the missionary work it is way more
effective then if two random girls show up on the door step. Members are the
key to missionary work!!
Saturday we did a chalk the walk with some of the Young
Women. We got together at the Lansbrook commons and drew the Plan of Salvation
on the basketball court. Each girl drew a different part of the Plan of
Salvation. Karsen Maxey and Amelia Clawson drew a bug huge earth on in the
middle of the court. Then people walking by the girls would ask them to come
over and they would explain the Plan of Salvation. It was such a blast and a
fun finding opportunity. After we had a power hour with the Young Women we all
said a prayer and then they looked at the map and picked a couple of streets
that Sister Bowen and I would tract. Then Sunday in Young Women's we would
report the miracle we saw. Caroline Clawson came tracting with us for the next
hour. It was a Saturday afternoon and no one was answering their doors. We felt
so bad because every time Caroline comes with us we always run into crazy
people. Anyways it was almost time to get Caroline home. We had a few houses
left on the street. We knocked on the door and thee cutest lady answered. She
said she knew exactly who we were. Chrisy had grown up around mormons. Her best
friend is Mormon, she's been to seminary, institute and general conference. We
were all in shock. You don't come across too many people like this. The even
better part is that her last name is Graham!:) haha we were all dying. She took
a picture of us and sent it to her friend that is a member. Her friend
responded with "it's a sign your going to become a Mormon!" Caroline
also got a babysitting job out of it so she was pretty stoked! How amazing is
it that when we don't give up our Heavenly Father always blesses us. I can't
even explain how many times we see that very last door has someone who is ready
to hear the unique message we each have to share.
I love this work! I love this gospel. I can't even
explain how much I have learned this transfer. So many life skills. My
testimony has grown leaps and bounds because I have been able to see the
miracles the Lord provides. I was reading in Matthew 16 this week. One thing I
loved is when the Savior taught Peter that the only way to be successful is to
build a foundation in Christ. I know that as we build our foundation in Christ and as we raise righteous families unto the Lord we will never fail!!! I love you
all and wish you the best week!☺️
Love,
Sister Kenzie Graham
