WEEK 3!!
Heyyyyy
Everyone,
This
week has been amazing!!! It is my very last week in the MTC which is honestly
crazy. Time is flying by. I am so excited to get over to Florida, but I am
going to miss the MTC! My companion is thee best. She is so Christlike and such
an amazing missionary. The best part about this week was that we have gotten to
hear from 3 apostles. I don't know how I have been so blessed oh my goodness!
The first apostle was Elder Christofferson who talked about how we need to call
our investigators unto repentance. It was so wonderful Sister Suman and I did
what he asked us to do in our TRC with Kaelin and guess what... As we taught
the spirit testified to her how important it is in the role of conversion. I am
thankful for the spirit and the he is the real teacher. Something that I have
learned here at the MTC is that I am just an instrument. I am here to help and
guide but the spirit is the one who truly converts those who are seeking to
find the gospel. The second apostle we got to hear from was Elder Ballard and
he hit it right on the dot. Everything that I have needed to hear in the MTC he
said. He talked about our role as missionaries. He taught us ways that we can
better our study and our teachings. The last apostle we heard from was Elder
Cook!!! He talked to us about preach my gospel. One thing that he challenged us
to do as missionaries is learn and study the lessons, don't memorize them. AHH
I love this man I took his challenge to heart and did it. As I have studied I
know my Savior more personally and I understand his atonement in a different
way. I always thought that I had a pretty great understanding of the gospel
before coming our here, but serving a mission has taught me how to deepen and
grow my testimony in ways I never thought were possible.
This
week was full of studying and preparing to enter the field. Yesterday we had
in-field orientation. It is a 9 hour long class that helps you understand what
to expect as you enter the field. It was so awesome and I learned a lot of
things that are going to help me. The best part was Sister Suman and I caught a
cold this week, so we were sneezing and blowing our noes the whole time. Our
Elders thought it was the funniest thing. Which it totally was.
Funny
story of the week! On Tuesday and Sunday nights we have choir practice before
the devotionals. Since the apostles have been here our devotionals are
broadcast to all the MTC's. Well as we were singing our piece for the opening
number the camera panned over Sister Suman and I, Sister Barkdull and Sister
Cook. As the camera got to sister cook her body decided that it needed to
sneeze. So she sneezed into her elbow on camera. When the devotional got over
our Elders came running over asking why Sister cook "dabbed" on
camera. we all were busting up laughing because the whole congregation thought
she dabbed when she innocently sneezed into her elbow. The whole rest of the
night poor Sister Cook got "Hey were you the one who dabbed on
camera." I love that sweet Sister Cook she brings so much happiness and
laughter to our MTC experience.
I
love being a missionary. I want you all to know that I love my Savior Jesus
Christ and his gospel. I know that the church was restored through our prophet
Joseph Smith. And when we are willing to do the things that our right our
Heavenly Father will bless us! I love all and I am so excited to get over to
Tampa and get to work!!!
Love,
Sister
Kenzie Graham
